PASSPORTS

Irish Citizens who hold an EU passport do not require a visa to travel within the EU. You must however have a valid passport. As a rule of thumb for European travel your passport should be valid until your intended date of return to Ireland. Please check with our reservations staff for advice if your passport is due to expire soon.

VISAS

For travel outside the EU, entry visas may be required. Visas may also be required for transiting through airports en route to final destinations. GTI will advise you of any visa requirements for Irish passport holders in advance of your holiday however it is the responsibility of each traveller to ensure they have the correct documents for each destination. Visas are required to travel on the following GTI holidays- Cuba, Vietnam & Cambodia, China & Tibet, New Zealand & Australia.

USA – VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME (ESTA)

All passengers travelling on a valid Irish or UK machine readable passport are required by the US Government to complete the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) as international travellers who are seeking to travel to the United States are now subject to enhanced security requirements. If you are of another nationality, it is your own responsibility to contact the US embassy for information about entry requirements.

ESTA – Electronic System for Travel Authorisation MUST be completed online by each individual who intends to travel, at least 72 hours prior to departure. Please use this official US Homeland Security website in order to complete your ESTA application https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/

The current processing fee is US$14 per person, payable online with a credit card (Please bring a printout of your ESTA approval for verification by US Security).

HEALTH

Vaccinations may be required before travelling to certain countries. Details on any health issues and vaccinations required for your intended destination are available from your GP or the Tropical Medical Bureau www.tmb.ie
