Our Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel overnight by plane

Start the tour by flying to Doha from Dublin before flying overnight to Cape Town

Day 2 – Arrival and Table Mountain

Upon arriving in Cape Town, you’ll meet your tour guide and be whisked away to Table Mountain, a majestic wonder of nature and national park. Take a cable car up to the top and enjoy 360-degree views of the city before exploring important landmarks such as the Castle and City Hall. (The City Hall was the venue of Nelson Mandela’s first speech after being released from prison) After a full day of sightseeing, relax and enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel in the V&A Waterfront precinct. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 3 – Winelands & L’Ormarins Farm<br />

Get ready for a full day of exploring the oldest towns in South Africa’s Winelands – Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. You’ll visit the Huguenot Memorial, walk through the quaint village of Franschhoek, and stop at the L’Ormarins farm to check out their Black Angus and Wagyu beef cattle and learn from the herd manager. Enjoy lunch at The Deli at Boschendal Wine Estate before heading to Stellenbosch for a walking tour of the historic town. Your day will end with a visit to Simonsig Wine Farm, one of the first three farms on the famous Stellenbosch Wine Route. Afterwards, head back to your hotel in Cape Town for a night of leisure. Day 4 – Robben Island & De Grendel wine farm<br />

Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before taking a ferry from Cape Town harbour to Robben Island to view the Mandela cell and other parts of the island. After lunch, head to De Grendel wine farm for a fabulous wine tasting with breathtaking views of Table Mountain. End your day with a scenic coastal drive and free time to explore the Waterfront hotel. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 5 – Cape Peninsula, Hout Bay, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve & Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

Experience the ultimate Western Cape adventure with a full-day trip to the breathtaking Cape Peninsula! You’ll depart your hotel at 9:00 am and journey through the charming fishing village of Hout Bay, taking time for picturesque photo stops along the way, before reaching Chapman’s Peak Drive and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Here, you’ll witness the majestic Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point in all their glory.

Afterward, you’ll indulge in a delectable seafood lunch at a selected restaurant on the way to the last British Naval town in South Africa – Simon’s Town. Then, continue your adventure with a relaxing stroll through the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, soaking up the natural beauty of the surroundings. The walk ends at the visitors’ center, where you’ll be picked up and returned to your hotel by 4:30 pm, leaving the evening free for dinner at your leisure.

Day 6 – Stony Point, Hermanus & Swellendam

Experience the wonders of the Western Cape’s south coast on this exciting day trip. You’ll start your day by visiting the African penguin colony at Stony Point in Betty’s Bay. Then, you’ll head to Hermanus, the best place in the world to view whales, where you can spot Southern Right, Bride, and Humpback Whales. Lunch will be at your discretion in this coastal village. After lunch, travel to Swellendam, where you will stay overnight on a working farm. Enjoy a typical South African dinner in the lapa, a covered entertainment area with a great bar. Optional visit to the Jersey cows and dairy available, although the citrus will mainly be out of season.

Day 7 – Dairy Farms, Heidelberg & Aloe Ferox Factory

After breakfast and check-out, get ready for a dairy farm adventure! You’ll visit two farms that use Dairymaster equipment: Elstelm Farm and Glen-Etive. At Elstelm Farm, your host Jaco Kock will show you their swing over system, while at Glen-Etive, Pieter Groenewald and Sons milk 300 Jersey cows using the Dairymaster bottle system. You can have discussions at both farms before heading to Skeiding Guest Farm in Heidelberg. Here, you’ll meet Neels & Anne-Lize Uys and their flock of commercial ostriches, Dohne Merino sheep, and Nguni Beef cattle, while also learning about the production of wheat and rapeseed in the area. Lunch will be a delicious ostrich steak. After lunch, stop by the Aloe ferox factory and shop in Albertinia before heading to your hotel in The Wilderness, via Mossel Bay and George. Dinner is optional at the hotel or nearby venues. Overnight The Wilderness.

Day 8 – Stander Farm & Knysna

After breakfast, you’ll retrace your steps to the historic town of George, where you’ll visit a vegetable farm owned by Jannie Stander, father of CJ Stander, the former international rugby player for Ireland. You will have a scrumptious lunch hosted by Jannie and his wife Amanda at their farm. Then, head to Van Greunen Farming, where you’ll see their dairy herd and potato fields. Late afternoon, travel to Knysna and enjoy an optional dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 9 - Knysna Heads & Estuary Cruise

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, get ready for a picturesque coach excursion to the Knysna Heads view point, where you’ll take in breathtaking views for 45-60 minutes. Then, embark on a 1.5-hour cruise on the John Benn Cruiser through the tranquil estuary. Sit back, relax, and soak up the beauty of the surrounding nature.

Day 10 - Plettenberg Bay, Carinbrogie Farm & Tsitikamma Park

Visit to farm of Andrew Hill then hike at Tsitsikamma Park, see Paul Sauer Bridge and Holstein herd at Robhoek Farm. Check-in at Courtyard Hotel, buffet dinner at nearby casino after an hour drive.

Day 11 - Kariega Game Reserve for three full days

Enjoy a scenic city tour after breakfast, then head to Kariega Private Game Reserve for a thrilling wildlife adventure! All meals are included, along with two open vehicle game drives and other fun activities. Watch the sunset and sunrise from an open 4×4 game vehicle during your stay. Stay overnight at Kariega.

Day 12 - Leisure time & evening game drive

Your adventure today starts early this day with a wake-up call before dawn for an exhilarating morning game drive. When you return to the lodge, indulge in a delicious buffet breakfast to fuel your day. You can either take it easy and relax, or choose from a variety of exciting optional activities. After a satisfying lunch and some rest, prepare for the evening game drive to see more amazing wildlife. End your day with dinner at the lodge

Day 13 - Morning game drive and departure

Morning game drive, breakfast, head to Port Elizabeth Airport, domestic flight to Johannesburg International Airport, check-in for flight back to Dublin. Cherish memories and bid farewell to South Africa

Day 14 - Travel by plane back to Ireland

Travel overnight as you return back to Ireland.
