Sicily Geography School Tour - Mount Etna, Aeolian Islands, Vulcano Crater and much more..
Begin your tour with a flight to Palermo where you’ll meet your coach and transfer to your hotel for check-in and an evening meal. The following day you’ll visit Mount Etna, Europe’s highest and most active volcano. Travel by coach to 1,900m before continuing by cable car and 4×4 minibus up to 2,500m. Your Alpine guide will then lead you on foot to reach 2,900m, giving students the chance to experience the dramatic landscapes and geography of this extraordinary volcanic region. Return to your hotel afterwards for dinner and overnight stay.
The next day you’ll transfer to Milazzo Harbour for a cruise on the Tyrrhenian Sea, exploring the Aeolian Islands. Discover the island of Lipari, the largest of the archipelago, and Vulcano, famous for its still smoking crater which inspired ancient Roman mythology. Students will also have the chance to experience the unique Sulphur Baths of Vulcano Island before returning to your hotel for dinner. On your final day, enjoy some free time for shopping or sightseeing before your coach transfers you to the airport for your return flight home.
