Begin your Rhineland History Tour with a scenic boat cruise down the River Rhine, Central and Western Europe’s second longest river, before visiting the breathtaking Cologne Cathedral, said to be the resting place of the Three Magi. The next day, gain a deeper understanding of the region’s past with a visit to the NS Documentation Centre, a Nazi-victim memorial in the former Gestapo headquarters, complete with exhibitions and preserved basement jail cells. Later, enjoy a guided tour of Koblenz before riding the Rhine Cable Car, where you’ll experience incredible views of the meeting point of the Rhine and Moselle rivers.
The following day offers a change of pace with the excitement of Phantasialand Theme Park, filled with thrilling rides, attractions and entertainment. On your final day, discover the history of chocolate at Cologne’s Chocolate Museum, a 4,000m² exhibition space tracing its cultural journey, before visiting the Sport & Olympic Museum, where interactive displays bring to life Germany’s sporting history, including exhibits from the 1936 Berlin and 1972 Munich Olympic Games. This tour blends history, culture and fun, giving students a fascinating insight into the Rhineland.
