Discover Washington DC with our exciting History Tour!
Start at the National Museum of American History and The Smithsonian Institution to see cool exhibits about America’s past. Visit the White House, where the US President lives and works.
Next, see the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which honours soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War and the Lincoln Memorial, where you can see a big statue of Abraham Lincoln. The Reflecting Pool nearby offers a nice view and lots of history.
Explore the Jefferson Memorial and Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial to learn about two important US Presidents. At the Newseum, you can see how news has changed over time and the International Spy Museum lets you discover the secrets of spying.
Check out the National Archives Building to see famous documents like the Declaration of Independence. Visit Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon to learn about military history. Finish with a visit to Fashion Centre Pentagon City for some shopping. Washington DC is known for its historic landmarks and impressive memorials. This tour is both educational and fun!

Morning
Breakfast at your hotel before visiting the National Museum of American History which presents America’s history in all of its complexity with more than three million artefacts.
Afternoon
Visit more of The Smithsonian Institution facilities – the world’s largest museum, education & research complex!
Evening
Return to your accommodation for overnight stay.
Day 3: White House, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial & Reflecting Pool, Jefferson Memorial & Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial
Morning
Breakfast at your hotel then visit the White House Visitors Centre followed by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
Afternoon
Visit the Lincoln Memorial & Reflecting Pool then Jefferson Memorial and Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial.
Evening

Day 4: Newseum, International Spy Museum & National Archives Building
Morning
Breakfast at your hotel, visit Newseum an interactive museum promoting free expression & the First Amendment or the fascinating International Spy Museum.
Afternoon
Explore the National Archives Building which holds important US historical documents then see National Mall, George Washington Monument & Holocaust Memorial & Capitol Hill.
Evening
Return to your accommodation for overnight stay.
Day 5: Arlington National Cemetery, The Pentagon & Fashion Centre Pentagon City
Morning
Breakfast & check out of your hotel then visit Arlington National Cemetery then The Pentagon – HQ of the United States Department of Defence.
Afternoon
Enjoy a visit to Fashion Centre Pentagon City – the largest enclosed shopping mall in Arlington housing 170 retailers & restaurants.
Evening
Transfer to airport for your flight home. Flight will arrive on the morning of Day 6

As your travel provider, we aim to give you all of the essential information about your holiday before you agree to any contract. Information such as:
- Where you are going and for how long
- The costs involved for the holiday itself and payment schedule (if this applies), as well as any tax or compulsory charges
- The mode of transport – this detail includes times, dates and places of departure and return
- Where and what your accommodation is (for example, hotel, guesthouse), and how it complies with the law of the EU Member State in question
- Cancellation details (for example, where a minimum take up is needed for a package holiday to come into being in the first place)
- The itinerary of any excursions included
- Any special or exceptional requirements, which you asked for and you and other parties to the contract have accepted
- The complaints procedure to follow if we, as the travel organiser, do not carry out as part of our contract
- Passport and any visa or health requirements
- Whether insurance is compulsory as part of your package holiday and if so, the minimum level of cover needed
As this is an organised school tour, all relevant flight information will become available through your dedicated group/tour leader. Additional information will be detailed in your dedicated login area. Once the tour has been confirmed every person (on that tour) will be sent their own specific link to login to the GTI Tour Portal where you can access additional relevant information and pay for the trip.
