Explore Egypt’s agriculture, culture and ancient history on this unique 12 day educational tour.
This educational agricultural tour of Egypt combines iconic historical sites with visits to some of the country’s most important farming regions. The journey begins in Cairo with visits to the world-famous Pyramids. You will also visit the Grand Egyptian Museum located near the pyramids. While in the Cairo region, the tour includes visits to several agricultural farms, including a family-run greenhouse vegetable farm, one of Egypt’s largest dairy farms and a major export farm growing berries, grapes and vegetables.
The tour also explores large-scale desert agriculture where modern irrigation systems are used to grow potatoes and onions. The journey continues south to Aswan to visit the High Dam, one of Egypt’s most important modern engineering projects built to control the Nile and support agriculture. You will then board a Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. As you sail along the Nile, you will see rural life in the fertile Nile Valley, where green farmland contrasts with the surrounding desert. Visits along the route include the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu. This tour brings together Egypt’s agriculture, culture and ancient history.
